Privacy Policy

TaskWall (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a productivity app that turns your daily tasks into a live wallpaper on your Android device. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and the controls you have over it. We have written it in plain language, no legalese.

Short version: We never sell your data. We never show you ads. We only collect what is strictly needed to make TaskWall work. You can delete all your data at any time from inside the app.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the TaskWall Android application (package ID com.taskwallai.app) and the associated website at taskwallai.com.

TaskWall is not directed at children under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

We do not collect: your location, your contacts, your camera or microphone, your photos (except wallpaper images you explicitly choose to export), or any biometric data.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide the app, render your task wallpaper, schedule reminders, store your goals.
  • Sync your data, if you enable Cloud Backup (Premium), your tasks sync to our Supabase backend so you can restore them on a new device.
  • Authenticate you, verify your identity when you sign in, send OTP codes for email verification and password reset.
  • Process your subscription, confirm and restore your Google Play Premium purchase.
  • Fix bugs and improve the app, crash reports and aggregated analytics help us prioritise fixes and new features.
  • Send transactional emails, account confirmation, password reset, and email-change codes. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

We do not use any advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Local storage, tasks, settings, and preferences are stored in an encrypted Room database on your device.
  • Cloud storage, if Cloud Backup is enabled, data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (data centres in the United States and European Union). All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher. All data at rest is encrypted by Supabase.
  • Passwords, stored as bcrypt hashes; we never have access to your plain-text password.
  • Payment information, we never see or store your credit card or payment details. All payments are processed exclusively by Google Play.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at security@taskwallai.com.

7. Your Rights and Controls

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights:

  • Access, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction, update your display name or email address inside the app at any time.
  • Deletion, delete your account and all associated data from Account screen → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We cannot recover deleted data.
  • Portability, request an export of your task data by emailing us.
  • Opt out of analytics, you can disable personalised analytics in your device settings under Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
  • Restrict processing, disable Cloud Backup at any time in Settings; your data will remain on-device only.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California (CCPA), you may also have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. When this occurs, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other legally approved mechanisms to ensure your data remains protected to the same standard as in your home country.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you via an in-app notice or email (if you have a named account) at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
